Please join Manteo Preservation Trust (MPT) for the 14th Annual Holiday Tour of Homes in Manteo on Roanoke Island on Saturday, December 1st 2018. These locations will be festively decorated and open for tour participants to enjoy from noon until 6 p.m. Included on the tour are several of the historic island homes, a home built by the “Manteo way of life” guidelines, a renovated dual-purpose office/home building and two historic Inns…. plus, more.
The Outer Banks Distillery will serve as the check-in point for the tour. Light refreshments will be served there, and tour participants will have the added benefit of touring the building and seeing the before and after photos of this historic building. The owners are also doing afternoon tastings for the tour goers.
Tickets are $20 each (adult or children) and may be purchased the day of the tour beginning at 11:30am. Participants will be given a brochure that includes a map of the tour route. We encourage walking or biking the tour to enjoy the sidewalks, the fresh air and the other homes and businesses you will see along your way.
Manteo Preservation Trust sponsors the tour to encourage the public’s understanding and appreciation of the historic heritage of Manteo and Roanoke Island, both architecturally and culturally. The Holiday Tour of Homes is one of the highlights of a festive weekend of events in Manteo including the Town’s holiday pageant and tree lighting on Friday evening beginning at 5:45 p.m., the Christmas parade at 11am on Saturday morning and Winter Lights at the Elizabethan Gardens on the north end of the island. Come early, shop, dine and ring in your holiday season Roanoke Island style.
