First Friday is a fun-filled, family-oriented street festival held the first Friday of each month, April through November from 6 to 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown Manteo along the Waterfront. The sidewalks pulse with live music, magic, artisans, and much more. Many shops and restaurants do individual celebrations inside their establishments, offering their own live music, unique merchandise, special sales and light refreshments. Each First Friday, Dare County Arts Council also has a new art exhibition opening reception which is free and open to the public.
