We do not have rain plans for either the activity or the celebration as both were planned to be outdoors. You are encouraged to keep an eye on the forecast, especially if traveling here to participate. We’ll update announcements here as we get closer to the weekend.
Join fellow concerned citizens “hand-in-hand” for 15 minutes displaying continued opposition to offshore drilling and seismic testing. President Obama took the Atlantic Coast off the next five-year offshore drilling plan [thank you!], but this struggle to protect our coastline is a continuing process, not an endpoint. Powerful and reckless interests do not give up easy to responsible stewardship of our natural resources and citizen health. Last year’s protest was awesome [see drone aerial video on YouTube] … let’s more than double participation this year, so come again and bring a load of friends!
Take a stand by drawing your line in the sand against fossil fuel pollution on Saturday, May 21st at Noon … Nags Head at the Bonnet Street Access (2914 S. Virginia Dare Trail). Please begin arriving between 11:00 and 11:30am, assembling the gathering to hold hands around 11:45am.
Outer Banks Brewing Station will host an ‘after party’ at 4:00pm to celebrate our recent victory of the Mid-Atlantic being pulled from oil and gas leasing for 2017-2022. Come join us for music and festivities plus thank some of the folks from Raleigh who helped us protect our coast!
