In Gina Gionfriddo's BECKY SHAW, a newlywed couple fixes up two romantically challenged friends: wife's best friend, meet husband's sexy and strange new co-worker. When an evening calculated to bring happiness takes a dark turn, crisis and comedy ensue in this wickedly funny play that asks what we owe the people we love and the strangers who land on our doorstep. Mandala artist, Melanie Bortz, will be teaching Mandala Classes at the Dare County Arts Council on Wednesdays from 4pm-7pm. During these classes, you will be taught the art of mandala creation, from basic and simple patterns, to a more advanced flow of lines through sacred geometry. Glenn Eure’s Stations of the Cross Film Screening
Enjoy a special screening of the CurrentTV short film, Glenn Eure's Stations of the Cross, at Dare County Arts Council on Friday, February 7 at 5:30pm. The locally produced documentary about the artist's decade-long spiritual journey in creating 15 nearly life-sized wood carvings of Christ's Passion. Mari Beth LaRose will lead a "Have a Heart for Art" themed art party on Saturday, February 15 from 5-7pm. During this class, students will be led step by step in creating their very own canvas.
