MANTEO, NC – Join Defenders of Wildlife and Keeping Track® founder Sue Morse for a discussion on wolves, coyotes and foxes, their essential role in our ecosystems and what they can teach us about our canine companions.

Sue will share her amazing photos and personal adventures studying these animals in habitats as varied as northern Minnesota, Montana, Arizona, the Arctic and the northeastern United States and Canada.

About Sue Morse
Sue is highly regarded as an expert in natural history and is one of the top wildlife trackers in North America. Since 1977, she has been monitoring wildlife, with an emphasis on documenting the presence, scent marking behaviors and habitat requirements of bobcat, black bear, Canada lynx, cougar and caribou.  As a respected field scientist, Sue has worked with wildlife agencies, land trust officials, transportation leaders and NGOs throughout North America. Sue has been featured in numerous periodicals, authored many articles and spoken before thousands of people. When not in the field conducting research, leading training programs or photographing wildlife, Sue can often be found presenting her findings and award-winning images to a wide range of audiences, including the public, conservation leaders and students of all ages.

About Defenders of Wildlife’s Work in the Southeast
The Southeast is home to an incredible array of life, some of which is found nowhere else in the world. The variety of landscapes and habitats it encompasses – from the Florida Everglades to the forests of North Carolina – makes for an equally awe-inspiring variety of wildlife.

Defenders of Wildlife is working to enhance wildlife conservation in the Southeast region on multiple fronts, including:
Leading the charge to bring the endangered red wolf back from the brink of extinction and pushing for the protection and restoration of other imperiled species including the Florida panther, Florida manatee, gopher tortoise, and the Eastern Hellbender.
Connecting wildlife corridors across the region to better protect habitat and help endangered species recover.
Advocating for the protection and restoration of public lands including the expansion of the National Wildlife Refuge System.
Educating the public about coexistence actions they can take to avoid potential conflicts with wildlife and helping to offset the costs of effective coexistence measures like building livestock enclosures or purchasing bear-resistant trash containers.
